If you are planning to visit London for your holiday you may already have started trawling through hotel websites to see what they have to offer and what sort of rates they charge. There are very many hotels in Central London and there is no doubt that they offer comfort and the convenience of having everything that you want to see and do virtually on your doorstep. This is especially so if you are coming to London for the shopping which is as fine as you can get in any city in the world, and better than most.
However, what hotels have to offer is a room with a minibar, a restaurant, and a lounge and bar, and that is about the extent of it. Some may have more than one bar, and some may have more than one restaurant. As for the prices, well they are nothing short of astronomical. We just checked with Booking.com for a two night stay for two at the Savoy, and the only room they had was £1,026. That’s in October when prices are beginning to fall off rather than in the height of the season. Even so, that works out at over £3,500 for a week’s stay, and there are a lot of hotel rooms that are considerably more than that.
