The Ideal Place To Stay In Central London | Boutique Serviced Apartments in Mayfair

Whatever your reason for visiting London, whether it is on business or for pleasure, you will need somewhere to stay. London has a population of just under 9 million people, but is one of the busiest cities in the world because it has 19 million visitors in a year. That is an awful lot of people looking for somewhere to stay, which means that finding a hotel room for the exact duration of your stay can be difficult.

Of course, it does somewhat depend on the length of your stay. The longer you are going to be in London, the more difficult it can get. You might be able to get a hotel room for a couple of weeks, but you actually need to stay for six. This can mean that – even though you may be able to stay in the same hotel – you may have to change rooms two or three times which can be extremely tedious, to say the least. Worse still, you may not be able to stay in your first choice of hotel and have to move to another.

Things To Do On A Day Out From London

If you are visiting London for a holiday there is plenty to keep you occupied in what is one of the most beautiful capital cities in the world. However, England also has many more joys to offer which are not too far away from the city and are well worth a day out when you want a change from the hustle and bustle of the West End.

Certainly, you may be staying in one of the many serviced apartments in London UK, while you are here, but there are many other places that you can get to – often in under an hour – which are very well worth a visit. You can get to them by train or bus, but it is also worthwhile renting a car for a day or two so that you can go wherever you choose.

One very popular place to visit is the seaside town of Broadstairs on the very South East tip of the Kent coast. “Quaint” hardly describes this place with its’ variety of pubs and restaurants, a central bay sitting below 90’ high cliffs with a wonderful sandy beach, and a very small harbour. Walk along the cliff tops to Ramsgate, or just sit in the sun and listen to the music on the bandstand. In August, Broadstairs has Folk Week when the whole town is invaded by hundreds, if not thousands, of Morris dancers, and the jingle of bells around their ankles is heard all over town. How far from London? About 90 minutes by car.

If you don’t want to go quite so far as Broadstairs and you are driving, you could stop off at Whitstable which is just off the M2/A299. This is another lovely little seaside town famous for its’ oysters. You can hire a bike from Whitstable Cycle Hire and pedal along the five mile Oyster Bay Trail along the sea front. For lunch it’s oysters – obviously – which you can watch being shucked in front of you at The Forge.

Another lovely town to visit is Cambridge which is about the same distance from London as Whitstable, or you can get there by train in 45 minutes from Kings Cross. Wander around the colleges and King’s Chapel, or visit the Fitzwilliam Museum before taking to the Cam (the river) for a spot of punting. You can get guides to punt you up the river, or you can hire a punt and do it yourself, but it’s not easy, and people have been known to fall in!

Brighton is another seaside spot to visit and is only 50 miles away. It’s a little under an hour from Victoria Station. You can wander about The Lanes which are packed full of tiny boutiques, record shops, and vegan cafes. Visit the Royal Pavilion which was built as a summer retreat for George IV who became Prince Regent in 1811. Have a couple of pints in one of the many pubs and visit Sea Life aquarium with over 3,500 species. Or you could just hire a deck chair and sit on the pebble beach in the sun all day.

You might want to take a trip to the New Forest in Hampshire which is about 90 miles by car. Here you can drive through pretty lanes among the ponies which have been grazing here for thousands of years. There are also highland cattle free-ranging, along with pigs. Have lunch at the Bell Inn in Lyndhurst which has been owned by the same family since 1782 and has two golf courses that you can play.

Another lovely seaside town to visit is the port of Rye in East Sussex. It has lovely little cobbled streets which climb steeply upwards to the Ypres Castle Inn and the Ship Inn. There are also quaint little shops and boutiques selling almost everything you could imagine. Only ten minutes’ drive away is the village of Winchelsea which sits on top of a hill and has some splendid views over the local landscape.

There are many wonderful places to visit within an hour or so of London, so it is well worth the trouble to get out of the city centre for the day and relax in the beautiful English countryside.

If You Are Visiting London, A Serviced Apartment Is The Way To Go!

If you are visiting central London, whether on business or for a holiday, and whether you are on your own or you are bringing a family with you, there are a couple of ways that you can go about staying in the city.

The first, quite obviously, is that if you have friends in central London you may be able to stay with them. That’s fine, if they have enough space to put you up. Of course, if they don’t then you really only have two other options open. One is a hotel – which is the first thing that would spring to the minds of most people - but the other is to stay in a private apartment.

Many people would not think of the second choice since it probably never crosses their mind, but it is quite possible to lease luxury serviced apartments central London whether you are staying for just one night or you plan to stay for several weeks or even months.

Yes, even in the centre of one of the most densely populated cities in the world, it is still possible to lease an apartment for your stay, rather than using a hotel.

Why Lease An Apartment?
Why lease an apartment? There are a number of benefits of leasing an apartment in central London, not the least of which is that it will almost certainly cost you less than it would to stay in a hotel. The next of these is that, for the duration of your stay it is “your” home. You are there on your own – or with your partner or family – and that is it. The building is not full of hundreds of people coming and going all day (and night) long. To all intents and purposes your apartment is your own.

Certainly, there may be other apartments in the same building, but there will not be very many, and it is likely that you may never even see any of the other occupants. It is just like living in any other apartment building anywhere else.

Another big plus in leasing an apartment is that it will almost certainly be a lot bigger than your average hotel room. Let’s face it, the average hotel room is a bedroom together with an en-suite bathroom, and that is about as much as you get, unless money is no object and you can afford to rent a whole floor. With an apartment you will get a bedroom, a bathroom, a fully fitted kitchen, and a living room, and in central London you can guarantee that it will be furnished in a luxurious manner. That’s just with one bedroom. Many apartments that are available have two or three bedrooms.

Of course, most apartments come with high speed internet access, TV’s in every room, concierge/security 24/7, air conditioning (believe it or not, even in England it can get quite hot in the summer months, and more so in central London because buildings are close together and absorb the heat of the sun), housekeeping seven days a week – so you can forget about cleaning, dusting, and changing the bed linen – and some apartments also have parking available either in an underground car park or somewhere close by.

What else?
Oh, you don’t have to conform to the rules and hours of a hotel: you can come and go as you please. You get to cook as you would at home, so you have your own choice of menu and are not restricted to whatever the hotel management has decided (you know the feeling: “Oh it’s Tuesday, so it’s lamb chops again”: however much you enjoy lamb chops, it can get tedious after a few weeks).

No Extras
And here’s another thing: there are no “extras”. In a hotel, everything is an extra. Want Wi-Fi? That’ll be extra. Room service? Of course Sir – that’ll be extra. Drinks cabinet? Extra. Car parking?  Extra. Don’t even consider the prices that they charge in the bar for drinks – they are through the roof. (In your own luxury apartment you bring in your own wine or whatever and just pay shop prices). Then there are “service charges” and gratuities on top of all that!

Look for a serviced apartment in central London. You’ll be glad you did.

Serviced Apartments Increasingly Gaining Advantage Over Hotels

Be it corporate or leisure travel, everyone is under pressure to optimise budgets and find ways to save money. In turn, cost-conscious travellers are opting to stay in boutique apartments rather than over expensive hotels. These apartments are considered an affordable alternative to short, as well as, long-term stays.

Serviced Apartments Offer More Space and Flexibility
Compared to city hotels, serviced apartments offer more space, more freedom and more privacy. The best part is that these residential spaces offer so much at approximately 30% less in price compared to hotels. If you commit to stay for a longer period of time, possibly 6 months or 1 year, you can enjoy savings of up to 40 to 50% of what you would pay for a hotel room.
But, this is not entirely the reason why serviced apartments are becoming popular among travellers of all ages and from different walks of life. Flexibility is what drives tourists and business travellers to boutique apartments. You can choose from 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments according to your group size and living style. An ideal Mayfair serviced apartment will provide you with separate sleeping, dining and living areas, along with bathrooms with power showers and direct lift access. These apartments are loved for their fully-fitted kitchens that allow guests to cook what they like and when they like; high-speed free Internet for unlimited work and play. Also, these apartments provide ample entertainment options, so that if you decide to stay in for the day, you will not get bored.
Do you know what the best part is? You get all the above mentioned things at no extra cost. You only pay the rental for the apartment. The amenities, facilities and services are all included in the one off price.
Lavish Serviced Apartments Allow You to Be You
Serviced apartments let you continue all your normal routine, without any hassle. You can sleep late, create a delicious meal, watch TV, invite your friends over, host a meeting or anything that you want. There is absolutely no restrictions that come with staying at a hotel. For the period of time that you decide to stay in a serviced apartment, you can treat it like your own home.
When booking a serviced apartment for your next stay in London, remember to find out if they offer everything that you need for your stay. Do not hesitate to ask as many questions as you possibly can.
