There Are Only Three Ways To Stay In London

If you are coming to stay in London there are really only three ways of doing so..

First, you can stay in a hotel. Second, you can stay with a relative or friend – assuming you have one who lives in London. Third, you can rent an apartment and make it your “own” home for the duration of your stay.

Now it is true that the majority of visitors to London (all 19 million of them every year!) don’t have a relative or friend who lives in the city, although a few do. Even so, that relative or friend may not have enough in the way of spare bedrooms to accommodate you and your family, or even just one spare room if you are visiting on your own. That leaves most people with the option of staying in a hotel – because there is nowhere else to stay, is there?

Luxury Apartments A Short Stroll From Buckingham Palace

Carlton Court has five of the most beautiful luxury apartments in London that you could ever wish to see. They are situated in the heart of Mayfair, just off Piccadilly so everything is literally right on your doorstep. Everything is within walking distance which is wonderful, because getting taxis in central London is not the easiest thing to do, and the roads are very crowded anyway. Of course, if you need to venture a little further, the underground system is also to hand, with Hyde Park Corner Station and Green Park Station very close by.

Talking of parks, if you like to go for a morning stroll, Green Park is right opposite the end of Down Street which is where Carlton Court is located, or if you want a longer walk Hyde Park is very close as well. There is also a stables in Hyde Park and you can hire a horse and go for a ride along Rotten Row.

Centrally Located Apartments In Mayfair | Boutique Serviced Apartments in Mayfair

When you are looking for luxury apartments in London you could not be more centrally located than at Carlton Court, in Down Street, Mayfair. Down Street is just off Piccadilly and a couple of minutes’ walk from Hyde Park Corner. The Knightsbridge shops are very close by – Harrods, Harvey Nicholls, and Amathus Drinks – and not very far away is Sloane Square where you will find Peter Jones.

In the other direction you are very close to Bond Street which has the biggest collection of designer shops you will find anywhere – Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Armani, Versace, Prada, Donna Karan, and more – while if diamonds are your “thing” you have Tiffany, Cartier, and Asprey.

If You Are Visiting London, A Serviced Apartment Is The Way To Go!

If you are visiting central London, whether on business or for a holiday, and whether you are on your own or you are bringing a family with you, there are a couple of ways that you can go about staying in the city.

The first, quite obviously, is that if you have friends in central London you may be able to stay with them. That’s fine, if they have enough space to put you up. Of course, if they don’t then you really only have two other options open. One is a hotel – which is the first thing that would spring to the minds of most people - but the other is to stay in a private apartment.

Many people would not think of the second choice since it probably never crosses their mind, but it is quite possible to lease luxury serviced apartments central London whether you are staying for just one night or you plan to stay for several weeks or even months.

Yes, even in the centre of one of the most densely populated cities in the world, it is still possible to lease an apartment for your stay, rather than using a hotel.

Why Lease An Apartment?
Why lease an apartment? There are a number of benefits of leasing an apartment in central London, not the least of which is that it will almost certainly cost you less than it would to stay in a hotel. The next of these is that, for the duration of your stay it is “your” home. You are there on your own – or with your partner or family – and that is it. The building is not full of hundreds of people coming and going all day (and night) long. To all intents and purposes your apartment is your own.

Certainly, there may be other apartments in the same building, but there will not be very many, and it is likely that you may never even see any of the other occupants. It is just like living in any other apartment building anywhere else.

Another big plus in leasing an apartment is that it will almost certainly be a lot bigger than your average hotel room. Let’s face it, the average hotel room is a bedroom together with an en-suite bathroom, and that is about as much as you get, unless money is no object and you can afford to rent a whole floor. With an apartment you will get a bedroom, a bathroom, a fully fitted kitchen, and a living room, and in central London you can guarantee that it will be furnished in a luxurious manner. That’s just with one bedroom. Many apartments that are available have two or three bedrooms.

Of course, most apartments come with high speed internet access, TV’s in every room, concierge/security 24/7, air conditioning (believe it or not, even in England it can get quite hot in the summer months, and more so in central London because buildings are close together and absorb the heat of the sun), housekeeping seven days a week – so you can forget about cleaning, dusting, and changing the bed linen – and some apartments also have parking available either in an underground car park or somewhere close by.

What else?
Oh, you don’t have to conform to the rules and hours of a hotel: you can come and go as you please. You get to cook as you would at home, so you have your own choice of menu and are not restricted to whatever the hotel management has decided (you know the feeling: “Oh it’s Tuesday, so it’s lamb chops again”: however much you enjoy lamb chops, it can get tedious after a few weeks).

No Extras
And here’s another thing: there are no “extras”. In a hotel, everything is an extra. Want Wi-Fi? That’ll be extra. Room service? Of course Sir – that’ll be extra. Drinks cabinet? Extra. Car parking?  Extra. Don’t even consider the prices that they charge in the bar for drinks – they are through the roof. (In your own luxury apartment you bring in your own wine or whatever and just pay shop prices). Then there are “service charges” and gratuities on top of all that!

Look for a serviced apartment in central London. You’ll be glad you did.
