Stay In The Centre Of The Action In Mayfair

If you are visiting London, whether it is for a couple of nights or for a week or for several months you will obviously need somewhere to stay. Of course, if you have relatives on the outskirts of the capital who can put you up, that’s fine.

However, it depends where you want or need to be. If you have to be at the centre of the action you really do not want to be on the dreaded morning and evening commute into London which eats into your day and is nothing short of a painful experience. Some people have to put up with this every working day of their lives, but you don’t need to.

You can choose to stay in the centre of the city so that your working day can begin as late as possible and you can finish and get back to your temporary accommodation as quickly as possible afterwards. If you are on holiday then you can obviously suit yourself as to when you come and go, but it still pays to be in the city centre so that you can see all the attractions as easily as possible and without all the hassle of transport.

Probably the real centre of the “action” is Mayfair. It is within walking distance of the best shops, theatres, bars, nightclubs, restaurants, and anything else you could wish for. You even have Hyde Park on your doorstep where you can be in the countryside in the centre of the city and take a leisurely walk or even go horse-riding.

Where to stay? Well many people opt for one of the central hotels such as the Dorchester, the London Hilton, the Grosvenor House, and more, but these are incredibly expensive. Mayfair is in the centre of the biggest capital city in the world, so the cost per square foot is pretty horrific.

However, there is an alternative, and that is to seek out one of the far less expensive London serviced apartments Mayfair. If you can find one of these you have, to use a particularly English expression, “got it cracked”. That simply means that you have got the best result.

With a serviced apartment you are right in the centre of the capital city with easy access to everything, yet you have your own private accommodation which is just like a home from home. Except, of course, that you don’t have to do any of the things that you would do at home like sorting out cleaning, looking after security, and so on because that is all taken care of. You come and go as you please, but have your own private residence at the end of the day instead of being cooped up with 800 other people in a hotel.
